Yes, not a lot of double bass solo pieces, this is good. Maybe he should have been born later and could have played jazz, more call for the instrument there
Very enjoyable, I particularly liked the start of the second movement (at least I think it was the second but didn’t check!) Regardless, the piano solo being lovely.
A terrific display of virtuosity! A remarkable composer. I suspect his choice of instrument contributes to his obscurity these days. But I loved it. Great choice Maestro!
